“In 1959 I took one guitar lesson, learned three chords and Mule Skinner Blues. I wrote “Tribute To Johnny Cash” using every Johnny Cash song I could think of.

I wrote “Dear John” for Johnny Cash and waited 15 years for him to record it. I don’t know if he ever will, but here it is.

Willie Barcena is proud to say he is just an everyday guy. His blue-collar upbringing gave him the people-skills to relate to a wide array of audiences.

Pat Paulsen, America’s favorite presidential candidate has had quite an illustrious career. Pat enjoyed performing live in front of millions of people… and this CD captures Pat’s 90-minute Super Bowl halftime performance in front of 48 million crazed people. (Actually, this CD was recorded during a show in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The tape recorder broke down just before the Super Bowl gig, and Pat got so angry that he stormed off stage refusing to perform under such conditions… so they played a game of football instead.)

Mike Guido is an extremely talented and successful comedian who has thrilled audiences in comedy clubs and casinos throughout the U.S. and Canada. Mike has made seven national TV appearances including featured performances on SHOWTIME, MTV, and A&E. He has also shared the stage with some of today’s biggest stars including Jay Leno, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Larry Miller, Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, and Rob Schneider. Mike recently filmed a role in a feature film entitled “The 95ers” as well as television commercials for Universal Studios and Cannon Cameras.

Sometimes as a performer you can work a show where the audience, the venue and the performer combine together to create a show capturing the organic reason why I do Comedy.This was one of those shows. Bobby Collins has starred in both TV shows and movies, but his reputation in comedy is the real backbone of his career. Having released several CDs, Collins has toured extensively with his stand-up — most of which is made up of his own observations and matters to which diverse audiences can relate. He’s funny, and cleaner than most, but don’t think he’s going to G-rate any of the smart-ass thoughts that frequently spring to his mind. Creative Loafing caught up with Collins and asked about the start of his career in the comedy biz, as well as what audiences can expect at his shows.

A dedicated husband and father, Mike put his career on hold for a number of years as he and his wife, Laurine, raised their family with special attention and focus on their daughter, Maria, who is severely autistic. The Guido’s founded and managed the M.A.R.I.A. Foundation, a non-profit organization which supports autistic children and their families.

With Maria now grown beyond the foundation’s program, Mike and Laurine have moved their family to southern California where Mike has continued to pick up his career where he left off. With a renewed perspective, appreciation, and energy, combined with his well-developed unique material and his “naturally easy and likeable style”, Mike’s performances continue to be hilarious and wildly successful.
