Elvira Kurt – Kitten with a Wit

Elvira Kurt Kitten with a Wit Comedy CD
Now available on iTunes!   Elvira Kurt - Kitten with a Wit

Elvira Kurt’s comedy hits a nerve! Her universal themes of the absurdity of modern life, the fractured nostalgia of our childhood and our continuous struggle against turning into our parents create humor that the Hollywood Reporter calls “acerbically hilarious.”

The Los Angeles Times notes that “her healthy doses of humor draw roars from the crowd,” and the Toronto Star describes her approach as “storytelling studded with a series of unexpected razor sharp barbs.”

However, she contends that all families are dysfunctional in some way or another.

She then went away to college, and eventually needed money. Since she was from Chicago, she tried to get a job at Second City as would pay half of the tuition for classes. Second City lasted three-and-a-half years. Writing many of the sketches for the group. She gravitated to New York City, where she began her stand-up career.

Stand Up Comedian, Actor, Writer and Producer, Margaret Smith does it all! A Six-time Emmy Award winner, Margaret recently left her gig as a writer and producer for the Ellen Degeneres Show to work on her own projects. She is currently in negotiations on a pilot she has developed.

Her incredibly funny CD, titled “As It Should Be” has a liner note on the cover from Jay Leno. She played the standout record store owner in the hilarious, yet short-lived, spin off of “That 70’s Show” aptly titled “The 80’s Show”.

Her list of roles in Television and Film include parts in Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas”, the remake of “The Blob”, the Wachowski brother’s hit thriller “Bound” with Gina Gershon and Meg Tilly, and a guest starring role in the Pamela Anderson series, “VIP”, to name a few.

Kristin Key – Buckle Up

Kristin Key Buckle Up
Now available on iTunes!   Kristen Key - Buckle Up

Twenty-five year old Kristin Key seems like any other sweet, sexy, well-behaved preacher’s daughter…until she opens her mouth. Her fearless style of comedy has earned her the title “Preacher’s Kid Gone Wild”. Key says, “I love making people laugh at things they usually wouldn’t think about” and describes her style of comedy as silly, edgy and very personal.

Kristin started her stand-up career at age 19 and quickly became one of the youngest comedy club headliners in the country. One night last winter, she auditioned for the NBC reality/comedy show “Last Comic Standing” in Austin Texas. “I showed up at 4:30 in the morning, and waited 7 hours just to get seen” says Key. For her, the long wait certainly paid off. On May 30th, Key not only made her national television debut on the show, but also got the judges’ nod to move on to the “house” meaning the top 10 finalists.

“I make fun of myself a lot and I tell a lot of stories.” To Kristin, nothing is off limits. She covers everything from personal stories to the top four questions you should never ask a hermaphrodite! In three words – she’s “flat-out funny”! Not girl funny – just funny!

“I think chick comics get a bad rap. Not all female comics are male-hating housewives with kids and “grrrrLL” power. I don’t want to get on stage and go on and on about my period, or how cute babies are. Being a woman is interesting but there’s just better *%#& to talk about.
