Brian Dykstra – The Jesus Factor

Brian Dykstra The Jesus Factor
Buy the complete DVD on iTunes!   Brian Dykstra - The Jesus Factor

Brian Dykstra’s rage ignites in THE JESUS FACTOR, his latest critically acclaimed uncensored and outrageously funny one-man tour de force about religious hypocrisy and power.

Dykstra’s last New York solo outing, CORNERED & ALONE, received an extended Off-Broadway run and was hailed by critics (The New York Times called it ”…exhilarating, intoxicating and enormously satisfying!”). If that wasn’t enough to validate his ferocious, stinging rebukes of those who hold this nation hostage with their constant drumbeat of fear, Dykstra has been branded an “enemy” by Rush Limbaugh while finding himself on many of the Radical Right’s most virulent watch lists, including the NRA. If dissent is a hallmark of the American tradition, Brian Dykstra stands in the forefront of a new generation of America’s greatest patriots.

Sean Kent – Waiting for the Rapture

Sean Kent - Waiting for the Rapture

Sean Kent’s eagerly awaited “Waiting For The Rapture” is a jolt of hilarious though sometimes painful honesty. Kent finds humor in subjects mainstream comics wouldn’t dare to touch. Masterfully he takes aim at the heart of bloated, complacent, overly consuming 21st Century America, eviscerating Walmart, hippies, recycling, the media and Fundamentalist Christians all in the same breath. More influenced by writers like Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) and Bukowski than by his Comedian peers, Kent goes deeper, takes more chances and searches harder for meaning than anyone else out there. This isn’t for the feint of heart but it is definitely for the thinkers, the outcasts, the rebels and the dissatisfied who look around and can’t figure out where it all went wrong.

Various – Raunchiest Women in Comedy

Various Raunchiest Women in ComedyAndrea Abbate is a favorite guest on Bill Maher’s “Politically Incorrect.” She finds it fun to be insensitive on stage in a time when everyone is so concerned with being “politically correct.”

Felicia Michaels, a.k.a. “Pottymouth,” a $100,000 winner on Star Search, has been seen on just about every comedy show that has ever aired. Winner of the “Best Stand Up Comic – Female” in 1999 by the American Comedy Awards! Please fasten your seatbelts before turning on Felicia!

Sheila Kay could definitely no be described as demure, coquettish nor dainty. She could be described as overbearing, blunt and bawdy.

Carole , known as “The Ivory Girl with an Attitude,” has been seen by millions doing her stand-up in “Crazy Girls” at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Denis Leary, et al. – Comics Come Home VI

Denis Leary, et al. Comics Come Home VIComics Come Home VI is a “live comedy CD” that was taped at the annual Comics Home Charity event on November 18, 2000 at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. Denis Leary’s annual benefit for the Cam Neely Cancer Foundation always gets an interesting collection of standup comics, and this is no exception. Not surprisingly, most of the comics are Bostonians, Irish, or, at times mirror Leary’s approach. It’s hilarious and highly recommended.

Uproar has produced many young and a few not so young standup comedians’ albums and this comedy CD is a great sampler of them.

Pablo Francisco’s parody of horror/action movie previews (His mimic of sound effects typically heard in the horror movies are excellent) . Clinton Jackson’s comments on smoking and smokers, and John Pinette’s “Show me the buffet” routine are my favorites. You may have different opinions, so why don’t you try them?
